Liberal/Progressive Fears

In order to be well prepared for the drafting of a conservative blog, it is necessary to regularly read the publications of the liberal, socialist, progressive segments of our nation. Some of these articles make sense but many of these writings are so left of center and so slanted that it is almost impossible to maintain a straight face when reading them. However, two points are clear. The left is very much afraid of the Tea Party and very much disappointed in the performance of their President Obama.

Initial attacks on the Tea Party were childish accusations by progressive/socialists claiming to have heard racial comments and/or to have witnessed violence. Not a single such claim has ever been confirmed and absolutely no civil or criminal legal action ever initiated. But these attacks continue and grow in intensity as conservative, anti-Obama candidates win general elections and party primaries. According to the liberals, there are no redeeming qualities attaching to any Tea Party member. More and more these progressive/socialists accuse the Tea Party members of being against all forms of government and government control. These assaults are nothing but continuing evidence that these attackers have realised the growing strength of the Tea Party and the approaching demise of Obama's organizations and of his influence.

Consider the recent article by David Corn. This fellow is well known among the progressive/socialists as one of their allies. He has written for almost every liberal publication and his books are commonly attacks on conservatives. His most recent opinion piece starts, "What a surprise: The Tea Party is not as popular as it once was." Citing a report from a survey conducted by the Washington Post and ABC News, Corn claims that 50% of the people polled had negative feelings toward the Tea Party [up from 39%] and only 36% had positive Tea Party feelings [down from 41%]. Is it not ironic that a negative report on the Tea Party is justified by alleged results from an alleged poll taken by progressive/socialist elements of the news media? He continues with an observation that the "extremism" of the Tea Party has "lessened its impact on 2010" and has become a "liability for GOP candidates."

Corn knows, but is afraid to admit, that the "extremism" of which he complains is nothing more than true American patriotism. He also well realizes that the liberal/progressive/socialists will lose in the general elections of 2010 and again in 2012. His article is an act of desperation and a hope that he might lessen the impact of the Tea Party and harm any relationship it has with the GOP.

Just as interesting have been the leftist articles attacking the actions or lack of actions of the Obama Administration. It must be noted that these articles do not wrong Barak Obama himself but are aimed at failures attributable to White House staff members. Typical of these attacks was a recent piece by journalist Rob Kall, a liberal/progressive. Kall stated that Obama was failing in office and the finger of fault pointed only at "aides, helpers and advisers". Particularly Kall urged that persons named Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod and Ken Salazar be immediate dismissed from their positions of authority. Obama remains a hero for Kall but Obama was badly misled by others [the Democratic Party] in the naming of staff members and now these same staff members are harming the "hero".

The two above points, the influence of the Tea Party and the incompetency of the Obama Administration, cannot be denied. No matter how these items are approached by the progressive/socialist elements of our nation the truth cannot be avoided. Obama is a failure as President and by the efforts of many Americans, including the growing Tea Party, Obama is destined for only one term.
