Turning A back On Democracy

While the American public is obsessed with the death of Michael Jackson; with the huge scope of his debts; with who could be the real parents of Jackson's so-called children; and with what could happen next, the Obama Administration quietly slides into step with the world order of socialists and their allies, the proponents of anti-American sentiments. President Obama has turned his back and that of official America on the people of Honduras who acted in a logical and necessary manner to terminate the efforts of its President, Manuel Zelaya, to become a dictator and to crush the democracy of Honduras.

Honduras is not important, the American public expresses, not in light of the death of Michael Jackson. How shallow America has become and how unconcerned with the actions of Washington.

Obama continues to demonstrate his international political policy of doing nothing and particularly avoiding any action that could in any way irritate any government that is now or has ever been negative in its attitude towards Washington. Joining voices with Hugo Chavez, Obama insists that the newly named Honduran President, Roberto Mecheletti, remove himself from office and allow Manuel Zelaya to reclaim the Presidency. Chavez is politically motivated to expand his influence in Central America and Obama is just a "poor ignoramus". To believe other wise only allows the conclusion that Obama is a dedicated socialist wishing to ally himself with anti-American forces to pave the way for America to be part of a new world order. Daily developments from Washington point with terrible omens to the latter of these conclusions.

Although there may be truth in the reports now coming from Honduras that Zelaya was abetting drug dealers and allowing 100 tons of cocaine a year to process through Honduras on its way to America, there is no need for the newly established leaders of Honduras to resort to any such justification for their actions. Preserving democracy is the finest and only justification needed. This is true even if the selected tool is the normally unacceptable military coup d'etat.

It is quite possible that Hugo Chavez, with no fear of any interference from Washington, will involve his military in Honduras and by the gun restore Zelaya. This would diminish even further the international prestige of America as it shows that we cannot even effectively influence, much less control, situations in our own sphere of influence.

If this armed intervention by Chavez does occur, there will surely be voiced by Obama his now routine expression of "deep concerns" followed by a renewed request for the OAS to take action. Yet again, Obama may surprise all of us and ask for American National Guard volunteers to go to Honduras, without pay and unarmed, to protect that nation's borders.

Supreme Court Action

The United States Supreme Court announced today its ruling in the highly publicized firefighters case styled as Ricci et al v. Destefano. Basically the Court decided that a lower appellate court had erred and that the Plaintiffs, white and Hispanic firefighters, had been discriminated against by not being promoted. These firefighters were denied promotion because fellow black firefighters had done poorly on the same standardized test. The liberals proclaimed that the test gave a "racially skewed result" and was prejudicially slanted against blacks. In fact, as the Supreme Court's decision made clear, the test was ability skewed and rewarded those who demonstrated ability regardless of color.



Like almost everything that originates from Washington, there are a number of important aspects to consider.



This ruling may very well be the beginning of the enforcement of a very American tradition - the most talented succeed. Whenever an American asks for someone to perform a service, that American wants to know that the provider is qualified to render that service. It is unacceptable for any individual regardless of ethnicity to be granted an authority and preeminence based not on talent but rather on the color of skin. The argument that 150 years ago my ancestors were slaves or that 50 years ago closer relatives were discriminated against is no long legally persuasive. America, particularly governmentally run sections of America, are and have been for some time beyond that prejudicial persuasion. Talent is now the only requirement.



The divided political nature of the Supreme Court and the very tenuous nature of this current political division is also highlighted by today's ruling. The 5 known conservatives (Kennedy, Roberts, Alito, Scalia and Thomas) voted in a group to support the Plaintiff firefighters and the 4 known liberals (Ginsberg, Breyer, Souter and Stevens) voted in a group against them. One loss on the side of the conservative faction would mean an absolute reversal in the direction of this branch of the federal government. It would also mean the loss of a constitutional brake on the policies of the Obama Administration. Discounting an untimely death, a sudden permanent impairment or an unscheduled retirement of one of the conservative Justices while Obama is President, there are two conservative Justices that are approaching the traditional end of their service on the bench. Both Justice Kennedy and Justice Scalia have been on the Supreme Court for over 20 years and both are 72 years old. The remaining length of their terms could well be short measured.

Even with Souter being finished with his judicial career and Justice John Paul Stevens approaching 90 years of age, their vacating the bench only means that Obama will appoint a liberal. The Senate, as it is today comprised, will confirm. There will, therefore, be no political modification in the Court by the loss of Stevens and/or Souter. The real concern is if all the conservatives can remain healthy and active for the next 4 and maybe even 8 years. This could be too much to hope for.

Finally, there is the question of the impact of this Supreme Court ruling upon the future of nominee Sotomayor. The lower court that was found today to be in error was hers and she had joined in the now reversed decision. Unfortunately there will be no impact. The GOP does not have the resources needed to prevent her confirmation and the Obama White House will not join in the reversal course set by the Supreme Court

As a final bow to ethnicity over talent, the sanctioned Judge Sotomayor will become Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor.

Obama - Again A "Poor Ignoramus"

Add Honduras to the growing list of international situations that President Obama has or is in the midst of mishandling.

News sources have confirmed that the military of Honduras have arrested and exiled their President, Miguel Zelaya. The constitutionally mandated successor is to be named the new President. There are no reports of civil unrest or of any casualties related to this apparent coup d'etat. President Zelaya was in the process of holding a public referendum to alter the current Honduran constitution so that it would be possible for his Presidency to be exempt from term limitations. The Honduran Legislature as well as the Honduran Supreme Court had declared the referendum improper and unconstitutional, but were ignored by Zelaya. The military intervened.

Zelaya was sent into exiled initially to Costa Rica but is believed to be soon on his way to Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Castro's Cuba and Chavez's Venezuela are allies of Zelaya and Venezuela is closer. Chavez has announced that the military of Venezuela had been placed on war alert in response to the events in Honduras and will endeavor to restore Zelaya. Of course Chavez does not want an anti-American ally to be removed from office and reacted in true form to appear to protect his interests. Our President also acted in true form.

The Obama Administration announced it was "deeply concerned" and urged everyone involved to "respect democratic norms" and the "tenets of the Inter-American Democratic Charter." The Inter-American Democratic Charter is an operational document of the OAS and was passed at a general conference of the OAS after Secretary of State Colin Powell had been suddenly summoned back to America. The date of passage - September 11, 2001.

America is "deeply concerned" over Iran and Obama does nothing; is "deeply concerned" over North Korea and Obama whines to the UN; and is now "deeply concerned" over Honduras and Obama invokes an obscure, tragically dated OAS document. It is just impossible for the current Administration to be any more ineffective in handling, much less taking a leading role, in international politics. In reading the said Inter-American Democratic Charter, it appears to be a perfectly drafted document for Obama. It has a wealth of empty language with calls for committees to investigate and to make recommendations. Most fearful of all is an ultimate sanction, to bar a violating member nation from the OAS. Obama has found a tool to avoid action of any purpose and to avoid irritating any of the socialist, anti-American nations of South and Central American.

The United States should immediately embrace the actions of the Honduran military and demonstrate our support for the reinstitution of a real democracy. Having naval warships pay a visit to Honduras may well be the correct gesture but it will never happen on Obama's watch. The feelings of the Castro brothers and Chavez are of Obama's prime "deep concern". Hating to quote Chavez, the tag "poor ignoramus" has again been confirmed as appropriate for President Obama.

Obama International Incompetence

The Obama administration, the representative of the United States of America in all international matters, has again displayed its absolute inability to comprehend and effectively manage diplomatic issues with sworn enemies of our nation. Today, while Iran violently suppresses those elements of its society that are pro-democracy and North Korea prepares to launch yet another "test" missile in the general direction of Hawaii, it was quietly announced that Venezuela and America have agreed to normalize relations and again exchange ambassadors.

What a reduction in world wide esteem America has suffered as Obama wanders aimlessly through world politics.

Until ten (10) days ago, America was still the world champion of democracy but as the Iranian government imprisoned, beat and even killed its citizens that took to the streets to denounce an obviously fraudulent election, Obama "spoke firmly" of his "concern" over these developments; directed Hillary Clinton to do the same; and urged the leaders of other countries to follow his example. Those brave souls yearning for democracy in Tehran must have been so comforted by this brave display of support. Meanwhile, Ahmadinejad's supporters, which include Venezuela's leader, Hugo Chavez, attacked America for having the CIA interfere with the national politics of Iran. Others in Iran scoffed at these weak Obama efforts with the comment that there is no need to worry about America, Obama has already folded and has said he is ready to sit down and negotiate.

The Obama approach to Iran is, to date, a failure.

In the Far East, we have been and are being challenged by North Korea on the issues of nuclear weapons and missile technology. Obama's answer has been only verbal complaints and a plea to the United Nations to help. The response by Kim Jong-il has been to issue more threats and to openly express that America is not to be listened to much less feared. If necessary North Korea will destroy first South Korea and then the United States. The reaction of Hugo Chavez to these comments was to voice his support for the "international independence" of North Korea.

The Obama approach to North Korea is, to date, a failure.

With this poor past record in international affairs, Obama now curries the favor of the most vocal opponent, and there are many, of the United States in South America by sending his ambassador, Patrick Duffy, to Chavez and welcoming Bernando Alverez to Washington as Chavez's official representative. Is it any wonder that Hugo Chavez recently handed Obama a book to read on international affairs and referred to our President's expertise in international affairs as that of a "poor ignoramus".

The urgency of making Obama a one term President in 2012 becomes more apparent daily.

More Waste Of Your Money

The national news media, in conjunction with the White House, lauded the announcements of the OECD that the worl wide recession was "close to bottoming out" but with the cautionary comment that initially the "recovery would be weak and fragile." Whatever those comments really mean is a mystery. It was, however, seen as "good news" to the Obama minions as they extrapolated from it proof of the success of the economic policies of President B. H. Obama.

All of this announcement is nothing more than a fraud to insure continued existence of an ultimate example of a meaningless bureaucratic organization.

The OECD is short for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, a European based group of moochers. This organization is the successor of the 1946-47 formed OEEC, which stood for the Organization for European Economic Co-Operation, and was created to administer the funds made available under the Marshall Plan to restore war ravaged Europe. When that duty was discharged, the folks who had made a living off of the OEEC had to find a way to maintain their lifestyle. They created an economic advisory group, the OECD.
This new group gathers data and advises its member nations on the status of national and regional economies. In other words they do nothing productive and have no authority to mandate anything.

The OECD is funded by "dues" and contributions and has a current annual budget of just over 300,000,000 Euros or in our currency about $425,000,000.00. Of the roughly 30 nations that are members, you and I, The United States of America, contribute 25% of that total. Simple math shows that this is $106,250,000.00 and for that sum America was given the indefinite and undefined information quoted above. We were also told that, in the estimate of the experts at the OECD, the American economy would decrease by 2.8% in 2009; would increase in 2010 by less than 1%; and our unemployment figure would not drop below 10%.

How is this information worth one hundred million dollars? Wasn't this information gleamed from our own findings? Why would our government, Barack H. Obama, in these hard economic times, spent that amount of the taxpayers' money when it could be so better used by Americans in America. But the OECD is sly and knows that giving the check writer a little "good news" for his political pundits to use, their jobs are safe for another year or maybe the length of a Presidential term.

It gets worst.

Last week the Obama Administration was successful in getting a financial package though Congress. In that legislation was the sum of $5,000,000,000.00 (That's 5 billion) to be paid the IMF (International Monetary Fund). These moneys were needed because the IMF had decided that the credit of the United States of America had diminished and additional security was needed for our $1o8,000,000,000.00 (That's 108 billion) pledge. What an insult to America and our President merely smiles and pays up. This is a huge amount of money and when, if ever, has the IMF done anything for us.

It gets worst.

The pending Obama budget for the 2010 fiscal year earmarks $10,000,000,000.00 (That's 10 billion) to be invested, that is economic investment and not security expenses, in foreign nations such as Mexico, Turkey, Pakistan and Greece, just to name a few. If there are advantages to the spending of this large fortune overseas it has not been explained except the normal empty talk of helping our fellow world citizens. It will do nothing now or in the near future to help Americans out of work, lacking health insurance and facing foreclosure on their homes.

This has got to stop! With any luck and the grace of God, it will in 2012.

The Strategy of Obama's Lies, Part Two

President B. H. Obama has spoken at length as to his desire to end the financial struggles that are being endured by the American public as a result of the not only American but also world wide economic melt down. His stated goal is to pull America out of this recession and reestablish the vibrant economy for so long enjoyed by the United States. This representation is absolutely false; contradicts the publicly stated method of operation of the White House; and opposes not promotes an ultimate purpose of the Obama Administration.

More than once it has been reported, and never denied, that the powers in the White House view every crisis as an event to be exploited to accomplish their goals. The economic crisis is viewed no differently. As long as it exists it will serve as an ally to Obama in his drive to make America a socialistic nation and to extend the authority of Washington into more aspects of American life.

The known political history of Obama and that of his past associations has left no doubt that he sees socialism as the best of economic methods. His actions toward just four of our long established independent industrial giants has confirmed this impression of our President. In less than six months time, the automobile industry, the banking industry, the investment industry and not only the healthcare insurance industry but also the whole actual healthcare provider industry have come within his sights. Each has fallen or are scheduled to fall under the management control of and in some cases the actual ownership by the federal government. Lesser published advances have also been made on the general insurance industry, the airline industry, the trucking industry, utilities of all kinds, agriculture and newspapers. These overtures, some requested but most involuntary, have been the product of financial hardship resulting from the decline in our economy. Until these and other major aspects of American industry are under the thumb of Washington, it serves Obama no advantage to have the recession wane, recovery emerge and prosperity return. If the socialist targeted industries can make it on their own, Obama has lost the advantage.

The result is that Obama lies. Any expectation of meaningful steps being taken to cure the American economy is a fantasy. Until socialism is an actuality or until 2012 when Obama becomes a one term President the recession, to some degree, will remain an unchallenged reality.

The Strategy of Obama's Lies, Part One

Two political realizations must be considered and then accepted as fact if any conservative or middle-of-the-road American is serious about combating the influence of Barack H. Omaba and his self-proclaimed Progressive handlers. These political realizations are 1) Obama is lying when he declares he is striving to save and restore the American economy and 2) Obama is lying when he declares he wants to unify all Americans regardless of ethnicity. An improved economy and racial unity are not his immediate goals. Rather, it is the antithesis of his focused intend to remain in power to promote the establishment of socialism, of total reliance by Americans on Washington big government and of his massive tax and spend programs.

There is not a day that passes that an emphasis is not made by those who control TV and radio broadcasts or newspaper and magazine publications or Internet content of the conflict between Black and White America. Racial comments against Blacks, be they accidental, foolish or just evidence of a poor sense of humor, by public or even quasi-public figures are the immediate subject of feature news stories and denunciations. The fact that slavery was suffered by Blacks in America 150 years ago and that until 50 years ago there existed government sanctioned racial segregation appears weekly if not daily in the news media. A nationally syndicated political column appeared in yesterday's paper that praised, in very faint language, the US Senate resolution apologizing for slavery and reminded the reader of the horrors he and other Blacks experience from segregation. In today's paper another nationally syndicated columnist defined the GOP as "grand old bigots".

If Obama did not want this type of news coverage, a single word from the White House would silence it. To the media, Obama is the wunderkind and all he says will be obeyed. The only logical deduction is that the speaking points list maintained by the Obama Administration includes this Black vs White component. The reason is obvious. The 2008 elections showed that an amazing 90% of all Black voters pulled the Obama lever. In any close election this could be a significant factor and Obama does not want to lose any of that edge. The separation, if not the hostility, between the races must be maintained so that in 2012 this segment of the voting public will see that one of their own is again running against the evil White establishment and again overwhelmingly vote for Obama.

The rising influence of the American-Hispanic population is also not lost on Obama and therefore the political maneuvering. Sotomayor is nominated to the Supreme Court and Obama could not have found anyone, regardless of competency, who is more identifiable within that ethnic background. Additionally, enforcement of immigration laws is lessened; the hand of reconciliation is extended to Cuba; and federal money is invested in Mexico. Anyone who opposes any of these White House sponsored initiatives is labeled an anti-Hispanic. A racial wedge is therefore intentionally driven between those, mostly White, opponents of Obama 's actions and the Spanish heritage voters.

In America, the greater number of voters are still White but in many communities, particularly large urban settings, the combination of Black and Hispanic voters outnumber White voters. The electoral college system favors this type of racial concentration and so Barack H. Obama, by his conduct, promotes the Black/White and Hispanic/White animosity.

It is not to Obama's political advantage to lessen the divisions between the races so he lies.

Tomorrow, Part two. Why Obama lies about the economy.

The inability of the Obama Administration to effectively address in any manner the situation in Iran has become personal. I can now identify, be it remotely, with the people seeking to rectify a not only perceived but actual election fraud. A young man, a person I have never met, has been arrested in Tehran and jailed for participating in one of the heavily publicized anti-Ahmadinejad rallies. His cousin is a member of my extended family and he explained the plight of this brave but unfortunate protester and the fears of their mutual grandparents, still living in Iran, as the family attempts to gain his release.

Although my focus is on the exposure of yet another flaw in our President and his policies, I marveled at the source of this depressing news in that his life story so exemplifies all that is and must remain great and unique about America. The young man who communicated with me is a tall, handsome, college and law school educated best friend of my son-in-law. He is a first generation Persian-American whose father fled the dictatorial regime of the Shah of Iran to begin a new life in South Carolina. His bride of less than a year is a beautiful, successful, high profile, college educated daughter of close family friends. I consider her to be my niece. She is a first generation Cuban-American whose family fled the collapsing dictatorial regime of Batista and the rise of Castro to begin a new life in Florida.

The only nation in the world where is it possible for such a thing to happen is America. The fathers of these young American family members could not have come from more diverse backgrounds and yet they both came to the United States of America as their refuge and hope for the future. Our nation has long been the worldwide acknowledged haven for any person wanting to experience capitalism, individual freedom and a reasonable tax structure. Yet all three of these best of our national traits are under attack from the Obama Administration as he and the so called Progressives champion socialism, big government control over our lives and an oppressive tax and spend policy.

Returning to Iran, President Obama is in a dilemma. He is being criticized by many for an obviously weak approach to the Iranian election crisis and his failure to rally behind those seeking a real democracy. However, his hands are tied because he fears that any overtly anti-Iranian government or anti-Admadinejad expressions will be viewed by the rest of the Muslim world as nothing more than a thinly veiled anti-Islam sentiment. He can't have this for it would counter his expressed desire to form a partnership with the Muslim world. Military options are not appropriate or viable. Obama could appeal to the UN but that would be just as effective as it was in controlling North Korea's missile and atomic bomb programs. Obama's only approach is to voice his unhappiness; have Hillary Clinton express her unhappiness and ask other world leaders to do the same.

This is worthless.

The victims of this Iranian election fraud are the people of Iran, the cousin of my young friend and the world prestige of the United States. Again we, an America led by President B. H. Obama, have lost some of our international prestige and lost more credibility in our international policy.

Sotomayor Character Revealed

There was nothing to be proud of as the leaders of the GOP focused energy on the fact that the Obama Supreme Court nominee, Sonia Sotomayor, belonged to "an elite all women's club" known as Belizean Grove. Of all the political positions and legal philosophical issues that Republican Senators could have highlighted in opposing this Obama choice to serve for life on the highest court of the land, this had to be among the most shallow. Unless it could be shown that Belizean Grove was in some way in conspiracy with or backing al-Qaida, her membership in this organization had no more significance than that of any male Supreme Court Judge being on an all male softball team in an all male softball league.

Tuesday and Wednesday of this week local and national news media positively reported on Sotomayor's defense of her Belizean Grove membership. Obama was winning as real issues concerning his nominee were ignored. Then on Friday Sotomayor acted and exposed characteristics that must disqualify her as potential member of the Supreme Court.

With thin coverage from national news media, Sonia Sotomayor announced her resignation from Belizean Grove. She explained that membership in this group violated no element of judicial ethics and she had resigned so as not to have this issue "distract anyone from my qualifications and record." In other words, Sotomayor was turning her back on a group of people she had associated with for years; was pretending that this part of her life never existed; and was going to do anything necessary to secure Senate approval for a seat on the United States Supreme Court. This is nothing more than deja vu as the Obama handlers, now controlling Sotomayor, implement a repeat of the successful Obama election strategy of disavowal (Rev. Wright); pretend it never happened (Acorn and other radical groups involvement); and do what is necessary to win including lying (Guantanamo closure, quick exit from Iraq and no new taxes on the middle class).

Particularly as to Sotomayor, our nation cannot have a member of the Supreme Court so weak of character that a feeble attack, like that of an almost powerless group of Republican Senators, causes her to reverse her position; so shallow of conviction that loyalty of a long standing nature is in an instant renounced; so ego driven that all acts are considered valid in pursuit of her Supreme Court goal; and so lacking in confidence that she will not allow her record to be viewed unaltered. All the empathy in the world cannot overcome these character flaws.

In reality, Sonia Sotomayor will be the next member of the United States Supreme Court. Obama will not allow a defeat to occur and the GOP is too weak to effectively oppose it. The POLITICAL URGENCY is to pray for the continued health and mental competency of the conservative majority of the Court until at least after the elections of 2012 when Obama becomes a one term President.

A hint of good news - Obama Style

The multitude of Obama Administration promoters and mouthpieces have received their updated listing of approved speaking points and are now hinting that the recession may have bottomed out. The newspaper articles and TV news bites supporting this Washington mandated announcement emphasize that the week ending June 6th saw 148,000 fewer American citizens receiving unemployment aid than the week before. On that date there were now only 6,690,000 of our fellow citizens on that dole. This represents the "largest" drop in 7 years and broke a string of 21 straight weekly increases. Great news, but absolutely meaningless and misleading.

These facts were ignored or marginalized: 1) the May unemployment rate in Kentucky is at 10.6%; 2) the weekly reporting period ending June 13 saw new unemployment claims for the nation at 608,000, up from the prior week by 3,000; and 3) on the week ending June 6th there were in Kentucky 10,683 new unemployment claims filed, up 31% from the week before. So where is the good news? There isn't any.

The Obama minions use mirrors and quirks to try and paint a picture of what a great job their leader is doing on the economy. Looking carefully at the Washington reports, the self admitted tricks are: 1) employment statistics are "based on estimates" and are complied to "measure trends" rather than an actual count of people working. In other words Washington does not want Americans to openly get the facts but rather get what "trends" Obama people think the "estimates" show; 2) reported figures are "four-week averages to smooth out fluctuations". In other words Washington does not want America to see the raw unemployment data but rather an altered figure that has been, so nicely put, "smoothed out"; 3) superlatives are not defined as in "the largest drop in more than seven years". In other words Washington would be embarrassed by a report that this said "largest drop" was barely a 2% downward move in the total of 6,690,000 unemployed but the number 148,000 sure looks impressive; 4) everything is "seasonally adjusted". In other words Washington ignores that being unemployed is being unemployed no matter what season it is and adjusts every piece of raw data to best suit its goals; and 5) continuing claims "lag behind" initial claims by a week. In other words Washington is unwilling to promptly show the overall picture in hopes that the newer data will be positive.

It is an error for any American to ever believe automatically what comes out of Washington and particularly what comes out of Obama's Washington. What we are being given are not the facts but adjusted, smoothed out, estimated, averaged trends.

There is an urgency to terminate the propaganda that Washington emits on the economy as well as every subject. Making Obama a one term President is an obvious huge step in the right direction.

America's Faded Glory

The task for yesterday was simple, buy a baseball cap with an American motif for a political function being held on July 4th. To cover my head with a cap featuring my college logo or one with the mascots of the colleges from which my children earned degrees was too limiting. The cap had to be, if possible, inclusive of all of the citizens of our nation particularly since I am scheduled to make a brief speech. It was hard to accept but this small purchase generated political thoughts and aggravated political concerns.

The best available products were a solid red cap and a solid blue cap with each bearing on its front ridge a map of the continental United States as if cut from an American flag. The field of stars was in the northwest with the rest of the nation covered by the traditional red and wide stripes. Alaska and Hawaii had been omitted but otherwise the presentation was good.

Problem number one was confronted immediately. Was the red cap or the blue cap appropriate? This 4th of July function had been promoted as bi-partisan so there was a fear that the color of the chosen cap could well send a political message that the wearer was pro GOP or a Democratic Party advocate. A portion of the attendees might be, at the least, cool from the start as to any comments I might venture. If this problem could be solved the next was even more burdensome and this time of an international nature.

The caps proclaimed by label "Made In China" and "Hecho En China". Was it possible that this patriotic purchase was going to profit Communist China? The same China that has placed itself in such an economic position, allowed to occur by Omaba, that it could financial destroy the United States at any time. The same China whose students laughed out loud when our Treasury Secretary proclaimed in an address to them that China's investment in America was secure. The same China that is moving in a steady pace to diminish the role and prestige of America in the Far East and has generally protected North Korea and its obnoxious acts. A major political economic issue had to be resolved before any purchase could be made.

Finally the motto below the flag-adorned map of the USA had to be addressed. In gold colored letters immediately under the State of Texas was printed "Faded Glory 2009". Could there be anything more heart breaking to a patriot, to a lover of America, to a champion of the dignity and prestige of the American way than to see our flag and nation characterized as "Faded Glory" with the RIP date of 2009? Truly this is one of the messages of the Obama Administration. Let there be no doubt that Obama believes that the United States of America has receded in status as to every aspect of its existence. The cure for this fading, as envisioned by Obama, is to turn America away from what made it great and to introduce socialism, big government involvement in every phase of the citizens' life and massive taxation. His empty words of patriotism are muted by his actions as he endeavors to lead America away from world leadership and into a world order of progressives linked in partnership with the Muslim world.

This is the sad status of our nation. The simple purchase of a baseball cap cannot be made without offending someone or promoting an international adversary or openly expressing agreement with the idea that our nation's best days are past. The urgency of this problem is clear and it can be effective addressed by weakening Obama and his followers in 2010 and making Obama a one term President in 2012. Then Old Glory can again proudly wave.

I'll wear the said red hat, because I like the color red, on the 4th of July and point out to
everyone I come into contact with the story of the agony I went through in buying that hat and how that problem can be resolved.

Could It Be True

The headline for the news story proclaimed "Iran accuses US of interfering in its elections." Considering the alleged source, Iran, there was no credibility attached to the claim. But, could it be true? Was President Obama really taking some initiative to rid us and the world of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? Unfortunately, the article gave no evidence or incidents that could establish that this "interference", whatever it was, had in fact been engineered by the Obama Administration.

But was it possible? Unfortunately, no. The past conduct of our President just does not allow even a remote hope that he could be credited with any part of the current disturbances by the people of Iran in protest to the questionable election victory by Ahmadinejad. The ABCs of American foreign policy since the inauguration of Obama have been Apologize, Bow and Criticize. Apologize for everything America has ever done; Bow to foreign leaders; and criticize our longtime allies. This Obama approach to diplomacy does not lend itself to an active role in helping Mir Hossein Mousavi oust his rival. Any such action, although it could be to the ultimate advantage of our nation, would also be contrary to Obama's expressed goal of a partnership with the Islamic world. America's best interests have now fallen behind keeping Muslim country leaders content. Other than hollow comments by Hillary Clinton that the situation is being monitored, Obama and his minions are doing nothing to promote democracy in Iran.

The situation is Iran is difficult to watch. The free, democratic election results were preordained. The Revolutionary Guard has cautioned the Iranian people to stop its protests. The government has clamped down on media coverage and on modern communication via cell phone, e-mail, blogs and twitter.

Take note America. If Obama is not weakened by the 2010 Congressional elections this Iranian situation could be a preview of the United States in 2012.

Computer Analysis of Obama

As is my almost daily habit, I drafted a quick letter-to-the-editor with the intent of exposing to the reading public a facet of President Obama's socialistic plans for America. As is its daily habit, my computer challenged my spelling of "Obama". Normally I ignore this protest but today I elected to see how my Toshiba lap-top wished me to spell the President's name. The choices were:
1) Baa - A good choice, I thought, in light of Obama's handling of the actions of North Korea

2) Bam - Another good choice, our President with all sound and no substance truly
exploded on to the national political scene; eliminated the Clintons; and out polled
the GOP.

3) Badman - What a good choice as this is how he is viewed by promoters of capitalism;
limited government; and low taxation.

4) Bagman - This sinister connotation of his past political actions cannot be by accident.

5) Barman - He definitely is serving the interests of his liberal, socialist, big government
handlers as they belly up to the White House bar.

6) Batman - The self proclaimed champion of the working man with the goal of
redistributing the nation's wealth could well be seen as a caped crusader.

7) Bema - The computer last me on this offering. Could it be short for Beware of Every
Move Attempted?

That all knowing computer is really quite good. It is now my fear that Obama's minions may
have a Congressional investigation launched as to who Toshiba really is and why did they allow these spelling alternatives.

Why Jon Huntsman for China Ambassador?

It would appear that President Barack H. Obama intends to have as his administration's ambassador to China Utah's Republican governor, Jon Huntsman. The initial reaction to this choice has been positive in that the governor is bright; successful; well spoken; well acquainted with China; speaks Mandarin; and provides evidence that the Obama Administration is pledged to a bipartisan approach to governing, at least in international foreign policy, our nation.

We cannot allow ourselfs to be that naive.

The ever-calculating liberal handlers of President Obama see this action as 1) good PR for their man by involving Republicans in his administration; 2) good PR for their man if Huntsman gains any positive understandings from Communist China; 3) a good GOP scapegoat for their man if American-Chinese relations sour; and 4) a good 2012 presidential reelection stategy for their man. The priorities are always "for their man" and not for our nation.

Looking closer, points 1-3 are selfevident but point 4 is not as transparent. The advocates of the Obama Administration want to insure that their man is reelected and returned to power in 2012. To help insure that outcome one of their plans is to assist in the marginalization of the only other substantial and opposing political party.

That party, the GOP, is currently facing a fork in its political ideology road. To the left is a path to moderate the traditional planks of the Republican Party platform with an acceptance of, among other things, the notion of global warming; the notion of greater governmental control over industry; the notion of industrial taxation via cap-and-trade; thenotion that gay unions are to be on parity with traditional heterosexual marriages. All of these policies are supported by Huntsman. To the right is a path to revitalize and strengthen the conservative planks of that platform. This "right" view is supported by various conservative GOP leaders including Dick Chaney and promoted by certain talk show hosts.

This internal conflict in the Republican Party between adhering to the past and moderating for the future has already manifested itself and may well fatally divide the GOP. To act as a catalyst to aggravate and to hasten this rupture makes sense to the B. H. Obama handlers. Therefore the decision of the White House for the promotion of the left leaning Republicam leader, Huntsman, whose name has already come into focus as a possible 2012 GOP candidate for President.

No matter how well Governor Huntsman does or does not do in his ambassadorship role, it all works out well for President Obama.

Obama control of education system

As part of the Obama Administration's plan to infiltrate and control all aspects of American life, U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan is currently promoting the idea that all 50 States should have their education systems adopt national standards for math and science. The federal government is making available $350,000,000.00, money from the pockets of the taxpayer, to assist in that implementation. So far 46 States have agreed.

The real issue here is: Why have Alaska, South Carolina, Texas and Missouri refused to do so? The answer is not complicated and is not a secret. To grasp the answer you merely have to read a quote on the subject from Secretary Duncan, "...50 States doing their own thing doesn't make sense."

What an absolutely honest but surely unintended statement from Secretary Duncan. President Obama and his handlers do not want the 50 States of this union to do or to be able to do anything of an independent nature. All power and therefore all authority must be centered in and from Washington. The above said four States have chosen to do "their own thing."

Each of the States that has agreed to this educational national standard idea will now be compelled to arrange a curriculum that will lend itself to that national standard. State schools can reach success only by meeting a standard established and monitored by Washington, not the individual State, not the county and not the citizens of a particular school district. Failure to meet that level of federally set competency will allow Washington to exercise increasingly greater control over the school systems. Washington would control the once State schools and, as a consequence, control the minds of our children, the rising generation of voters.

Obama's staff is politically sharp and sees the long range picture. Unfortunately, our leaders in 46 States missed that obvious implications of buying into this idea of a national educational standard.
