MORE ON LIBYA

The situation in Libya grows worse daily and as a result the American people are yet again confronted with an international situation that will have no final outcome that can be beneficial to our nation.

With an accomplishment record that stinks (an on-going poor economy, huge under/unemployment figures and a massive, growing federal deficit), there is a real possibility that Obama will soon add another worthless item to his Presidential resume. He will soon direct our armed forces to begin an interventionist role in Libya. This role will be intended to make Qaddafi's government in Libya even more tenuous and soon to fail. It is certainly difficult to continue to entrust the safety of our military personnel in places like Iraq and Afghanistan to the leadership of B.H.O. Adding the Middle-East to the list of areas in which our forces will be intentionally endangered is just unacceptable.

NATO is in the process of declaring a "no fly zone" over parts of Libya and these restricted areas will be patrolled by several nations including the United States. Our war ships in the Mediterranean will be on alert and will be sending their aircraft into action. These ships, including rescue units, will be on 24 hour duty rotations. It will only be a matter of time before American families will be sadly advised that a loved one has been sacrificed in the struggle to pacify a yet another section of the world that has no love for America.

It is interesting to note that there has been no threat of intervention in Libya, or any where else in the Middle-East by Russia or Communist China, although both nations are active in that area of the world and are withdrawing from the danger zones their citizens who were giving technical assistance. However, that champion of freedom, Italy, has unilaterally cancelled its mutual non-aggression pact with Libya. This puts Italy on our side along with the UN which has imposed "punitive financial sanctions" against Libya.

Statistics show that B. H. Obama has barely a 50% positive rating from US citizens and one can only imagine how that rating will sink as the news media begins to publish the names of our American casualties from operations in Libya.

A better response to the situation in Libya is to provide needed protection to Americans and then stand back and allow the citizens of Libya to handle this matter internally. The alternative is to just admit that we see ourselves as world monitors and seize control of this oil rich, poor, third-world, desert nation.

Libya is a great mess no matter how it is approached. The final solution for the role of the US has to be to our immediate direct advantage with all other philosophical approaches being dropped.

MIDDLE EAST GROWS WORSE

Years ago, and I should probably say decades ago, there was a hit song preformed by Barry Mcguire. The name of the song was "Eve Of Destruction". In that song there were these lyrics, "The eastern world it is exploding, violence flarin', bombs exploding". Now, in the early months of 2011 this is exactly what is again happening or just did happen in Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia, Libya and Bahrain.

Two questions that all news media outlets are ignoring are centered on: 1) what in the world is Obama doing and 2) when does it become necessary for there to be international American military intervention?

On the second question, starting in 1941 and continuing today, our national government has been actively involved in the internal operation of countries all over the world. Since World War II, our military has seen open combat action in Vietnam and in Korea and in Afghanistan and in Iraq and in Sudan and in Panama and in Granada. There is no telling how many other nations have had clandestine, violent visits by our armed forces. During this same time the USA has poured hundreds of billions of dollars into foreign countries and now find that we are trillions of dollars in debt and losing ground daily to our biggest, strongest, richest enemy - Communist China. And, we are today hated by the citizens of many countries.

America must remain strong and absolutely prepared to protect itself. However, huge invasions with years of post-combat occupation must come to an end. If another nation blatantly offends the USA then a quick, forceful lesson must be delivered and all our servicemen promptly returned to the safety of their assigned military installations. With God's blessing there will never be another World War and never arise another need to send hundreds of thousand of our military overseas. Americans must accept the fact that we are not the watch-dog of the world and must concentrate primarily on protecting and bettering our nation.

And now, what is Obama doing? He has failed at boosting of our economy. He has failed at reducing the national debt. He has failed at lowering unemployment. However, he has stuck his nose in to the internal operations of Egypt and of Tunisia and of other foreign nations. Over the past 2 years his international reputation has slipped and along with it the world's view of America.

It is time to redirect our efforts away from the rest of the world and toward our own 50 states. Massive non-emergency foreign aid must stop and every nation must be allowed to internally decide what form of government it desires. America has to stop being the ever interfering international neighbor.

It would be nice for all nations to be democracies but in reality that will not happen.

ANOTHER B.H.O. ERROR

Most recently Dick Morris asked in one of his columns if B. H. Obama, our President, has "the strength to stand up to Muslim extremists?"

Unfortunately the obvious answer has to be a firm NO.

There exists in many Islamic nations an organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood. This group is not only actively against the governing bodies in such nations as Egypt, Qatar and Tunisia but is openly anti-American. We have seen the existing government of Egypt fail; the existing government of Tunisia partially fail; and in Qatar and Yemen and and Bahraincrowds are in the street demanding a more Koran oriented (which means Muslim Brotherhood) government. Saudi Arabia was so concerned with the actions of the Muslim Brotherhood and America's open encouragement of these religious radicals that its King initiated a telephone call to B. H. Obama to chastise the "leader of the free world" and to urge him not to abandon Egypt's Mubarak.

It was too late.

Reports have been published that in just the past 3 weeks B. H. Obama has had some 36 meetings of his government officials to discuss the situation in Egypt. The outcome of these meetings was a clear abandonment of Mubarak and an urging that substantial changes be implemented in one of the oldest cultures on Earth. What we got was a military take over with promises that "free elections" would soon be held. Some mention has been made on holding elections in 6 months and in response the Muslim Brotherhood has already announced that it will have a group of its adherents seek legislative office.

The big question now has to be which organization will control the new Egypt. The only real choices are the military and the radical Muslim Brotherhood. America gains nothing with either result.

This Obama intervention in the internal matters of Egypt can only be described by the expression "it stinks". America has no business getting involved in the operational functions of any foreign nation. Our interest and concern should only be expressed in the event of some provable situation by which America or Americans are placed in jeopardy. In other words, it is time for the USA to withdraw as the international mentor and enforcer. If we are threatened then a quick forceful response is needed with limited, if any, deployment of our military.

We have serious issues at home upon which all our government effort and assets must be applied. That list includes a huge national debt; a new Obama yearly budget that calls for over a trillion dollars of additional debt; unacceptable unemployment levels; millions of citizens on welfare; a pending energy crisis; porous borders and literally 10+ million illegal immigrants already residing in the 50 states. These are the matters that deserve the complete attention of all federal, state and local elected officials.

The Muslim Brotherhood bothers me and it particularly bothers me to recall B. H. Obama bowing to different Arab leaders, the same leaders he is now abandoning.

The bottom line is that Obama is lost, is unreliable and is well over his head trying to be the President of our nation.

WASHINGTON PROBLEMS

Our leaders in Washington have for the past two weeks been primarily focused on the political upheaval in Egypt. Little attention has been focused by Obama and his cronies on the overwhelming difficulties that continue to burden and depress America. Although all of our citizens would like to see a government formed in Egypt that can honestly be "of, by and for the people", this is an internal Egyptian problem and the USA needs to remove itself from any role in this conflict. Multiple speeches from the White House on the situation are not only unnecessary but are inappropriate. As long as the Suez Canal remains open to all international shipping at a reasonable fee, we should stand back and merely observe the turmoil in Egypt.

While the White House has been focused on international matters, the economic problems in America remain unresolved and overly depressing. Most recently statistics were released on the status of the American housing market. The news was not only bad it was overwhelmingly bad.

At the end of 2010 some 27% of all financed homes in our nation had obligations in the form of mortgages that exceeded the fair market value of the property and its improvements. The total number of homes in the nation that had fallen into this terrible category was placed at 15,700,000. More troubling were the reports that 81.5% of all homes in Las Vegas were "under water" while in Orlando, Florida this bad news was impacting 61.7% of the homes.

Foreclosures will continue to negatively impact the economic recovery of our nation for at least the next several years with the ramifications being seen in America in the form of diminished employment of all construction related businesses and workers to the depletion of family retirement savings tied to home equity.

The last thing our nation needs is for Obama to try to cure this real estate problem with some government mandate that requires all mortgages to be reduced, at no penalty to the home owner, to the fair market value of the property. The amount of this forced reduction would be in some manner credited to the mortgage holders, most likely as a tax credit.

And our nation would slide even more into debt.

WASHINGTON'S LIES & ERRORS

Yet again the news from B. H. Obama and his Washington allies is intentionally misleading and these lies are joined by his wrongful international conduct. The two areas of concern are the January report on American unemployment and the current civil unrest in Egypt.

The headline said "Obama Continues To Cure Unemployment" and went on to report that in January of 2011 the unemployed portion of the American work force had dropped to a 9.0% level. Quickly that segment of the news media that does not automatically cater to the B.H.O.
Administration pointed out that is 9.0% unemployment statistic was nothing more than a manufactured figure created by a redefinition of what "unemployed" means. These critics are correct.

The actual news release by the Bureau of Labor Statistics stated that some 2,800,000 unemployed had not been included in this 9.0% calculation in that this group of several millions of Americans had not sought employment for the past 4 weeks. In fact, during January of 2011 only 36,000 new jobs had been created in our nation, far too few to reduce the unemployment rate.

Conflicting with the Obama report is a report issued today by Gallup. This organization found that actual unemployment in our nation had increased to 9.8% and that the figure for underemployed Americans is at 18.9%.

With this terrible labor situation joined by the terrible government debt level still crippling America, Obama has decided that it is more important for his efforts to be focused on the internal upheaval in Egypt. This is an error and the recent acts of the White House are contrary to the best interests of our nation.

What the citizens of Egypt decide to do with the current Mubarak regime is only of passing interest to America. Clearly as a nation we would prefer for Egypt to be a democratic, free nation but if the people of that country wish for a more dictatorial, religious based government headed by followers of The Muslim Brotherhood, that is their right. America cannot be the policing agent of the world and needs to be much more focused on our own internal problems.

It is well past time for the USA to recall all of its military from foreign lands and to "speak softly but carry a big stick" when it comes to international affairs. Whoever prevails in Egypt, our huge annual monetary support must come to an end and the use of the Suez Canal must remain open to America shipping and remain reasonably priced.

Obama and Clinton have much more important matters to be worried about and must stop the focus on Egypt and, by the way, stop the manipulation of national employment statistics.

THREE WORRIES

Most recently, three items of reported news have caught my attention. It would be more appropriate to say they "raised some fear".

An announcement was made from Washington on the topic of single family residences. This report passed on the information that as of the end of December 2010 across our nation 11% of the completed homes were vacant. In rough numbers, the report stated that this percentage equaled just over 18,400,000 units. This number of empty houses is almost impossible to comprehend. However, what is even more difficult to grasp is the amount of money tied up in these vacant units. Even placing a low estimate of the "market value" of these home, a total of well over $1.8 Trillion is tied up and not being reduced by monthly mortgage payments. It was no surprise that the conclusion of the report expressed the opinion that these millions of homes, as well as the remainder of our nation's single family residences, would continue to fall in value.

It is easy to see that the construction industry will not be even a partial solution for our unacceptable level of unemployment.

Related to that last thought was a statistic I read, the second news item to cause worry. It has been estimated by an international organization that during the next ten years some 400,000,000 young people, world wide, will be entering the labor force. With the economies of almost every nation at a standstill, the employment potential for this huge number of people is most pessimistic. Here in America our unemployment level is unacceptable with little, if anything, being seen as an end - solution - to this lingering problem.

The final worrisome item was a quote from the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This extremely powerfully organization is headed by a French Socialist, Dominique Straus-Kahn, who expressed, "As tension between countries increase, we could see protectionism - of trade and of finance. And as tension within countries increase, we could see rising social and political instability - even war." This statement by Straus-Kahn is quite true and is obviously applicable to the current events in Egypt.

In our nation we have little in the way of "rising social and political instability" although we do have a substantial number of Americans who are anti-Obama and his policies. The impact of Straus-Kahn's comment is, however, on our role in international trade. With our international debt being so extreme and our economy being so weak/stagnant there is a real need for America to refocus on its own 50 States; to cease involvement in the internal affairs of foreign nations; and to exercise an effective national strategy for "protectionism - of trade and of finance".
