This is the most recent piece of irritating Washington news, which is another way of saying Obama news, that has been released to the public. It pertains to the intended treatment of illegal immigrants after they have been seized by enforcement officers and are placed in a detention facility.
By the efforts of Representative Brian Bilbray, R-Calif., chairman of the congressional Immigration Reform Caucus, it has been publicly disclosed that the federal agency, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), is in the process of obtaining bids to "upgrade immigration detention centers." The centers to be modified are located in California, Arizona, Texas, Georgia and New Jersey. The "upgrades" which will be paid for by American taxpayers include self-serve fresh vegetable and beverage bars; arts and crafts lessons; movie night; free e-mail and Internet-based phone service; dance and cooking lessons; extended visitation hours; and a designated "unit manager" to whom detainees can report problems and avoid contact with guards.
In other words, according to Bilbray, these detention facilities will be more "upscale" than our jails in which real Americans are housed. Absolutely the wrong message to send to illegal aliens. These facilities in which these wrong doers are housed need to be only clean and safe. As stated by Bilbray "if they (the illegals) really hate the detention facility they can always say 'Forget it, I want to go home' (to their own country)". This is the real goal that all American want to see - the deportation of foreigners who arrive in America illegally and in defiance of the laws of our nation.
Without being paranoid, this ICE action is merely a manifestation of the real possibility that Obama will be attempting to forgive and naturalize these illegal aliens. Of course our President would not want these potential voters to have any hard feelings towards him arising from their incarceration that could carry over negatively to the November 2012 elections. To solve that potential problem, ICE will make the detention stay as pleasant as a Tijuana vacation but costing these "vacationers" absolutely nothing.
ICE, through a spokesperson, thought little of the issues raised by Bilbray and stated that the detainees did not need a "prison atmosphere" because they were not criminals but rather only in "civil administrative violation". What? These aliens break the laws of the United States by sneaking into our nation; by working illegally; by not paying taxes; by improperly using government services and they are not criminals? Obama and his liberal/progressive/socialists often make these brainless statements in justifying a position stated or an action taken.
These illegal aliens need to be located and promptly placed in some manner of clean, safe transportation for returned to their home land. Any other actions or delays by the federal government do nothing but signal a weakness on the part of Americans. I do not want anyone to associate me with this weakness or its source - Obama.
