Although I am not a fan of Jerry Brown, the current Attorney General for the State of California and the past liberal holder of many other titles and positions, a most recent quote attributed to him really framed a valid sentiment. Brown said, "The evidence illustrates that things are not always as partisan zealots portray them through highly selective editing of reality. Sometimes a fuller truth is found on the cutting floor."
This statement is on target but unfortunately it applies to both major political parties, most political pundits and our Federal Government.
Some conservative activists seize the headlines, be it TV, radio, print or internet, almost daily with a warning that the "end is near" for some aspect of the traditional American way of life. However, a contribution of cash to the entity giving the warning will ease the situation. You may even receive a free copy of a new, right-leaning book, postage not included.
Democrats and liberal journalists are little better. Their biggest expressed concern is currently the "racist" undertones of groups that oppose their hero, Obama, with the obvious target being the Tea Party.
Obama's official releases carry so many "standard" adjustments and modifications that a national unemployment rate of almost 17% is reported as being at 9.7%. The slightest positive change in any aspect of the economy is a sign that "good times" are nearing with a simultaneous down-play of the proposed Obama Value-Added-Tax that will take more money out of the pockets of all Americans. At the cost of billions of dollars joined with the somber news of more killed and wounded American soldiers, "progress" is being proclaimed in two foreign wars whose people and history is in all aspects contrary to all American dreams and ideals.
Brown is correct. Seldom is a completely true story given to the American public by any of our proclaimed leaders or leadership groups. Sadly for our nation, the full and complete truth rests "on the cutting room floor".
